Since 1961, Kianda Foundation has placed educating women and girls at the very heart of its mission. From primary and secondary education to technical and vocational training, and from business development through our Fanikisha Program to empowering women for economic independence, we believe in education at every level as a powerful catalyst for transformation.
But education is more than classrooms and certificates. At Kianda Foundation, what we are truly nurturing is courage, confidence, and possibility.
Education is a quiet, faithful investment in transformation. It is the moment a girl realises her dreams are valid. It is the point where a young woman understands that her story is not defined by her circumstances. When knowledge takes root, confidence grows. When confidence grows, choice emerges. And with choice comes freedom.
Through Kianda School, we lay strong foundations at the primary and secondary levels. Our TVET institutions: Kibondeni College of Catering and Hospitality Management, Kimlea Girls Technical Training Centre, and Tewa Training Centre, equip women with practical, employable skills for meaningful careers. And through Fanikisha, we empower women with business training that builds sustainable livelihoods and economic independence. Every stage matters. Every level carries the power to transform a life.
For over six decades, we have invested in women not because it is easy, but because we know that when a woman is educated, everything around her changes. Families gain vision. Communities grow stronger. Societies become more resilient and compassionate.
As we mark the International Day of Education, we celebrate every woman and girl who has dared to learn. And we recommit ourselves to walking alongside them at every stage of their educational journey, because when women rise, we all rise.
