A New Beginning for the Women of Dagoretti
As the new year dawned, so did a new chapter for the Fanikisha program under Kianda Foundation. In January, we welcomed a fresh Fanikisha cohort of women in Dagoretti. This diverse group is eager to transform their lives. Every Tuesday, from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM, women from all walks of life gather at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church Riruta. Together, they learn, share, and grow. This program will continue for six months.

The Fanikisha program is more than just a training ground—it is a community where women empower each other.
Hands-On Learning and Support
Participants receive hands-on training in business management and cooking skills. This knowledge equips them to improve their livelihoods. However, the program offers more than just practical skills. It provides a safe space for emotional and psychological well-being. Participants engage in personal and group counseling sessions.

The Power of Diversity
What makes this cohort stand out is its incredible age diversity. It includes young women in their early 20s and seasoned ladies with decades of life experience. This mix creates a dynamic learning environment. The younger women introduce fresh perspectives. They help the older participants understand modern trends, preferences, and innovative business strategies.
In turn, the older women share their wisdom and life lessons. Their experiences offer invaluable guidance to the younger generation. This intergenerational exchange fosters a unique bond among the women. It reinforces the essence of community and mutual learning.
The Importance of Community
The transformation happening at the Fanikisha program is a beautiful reminder that it occurs in the company of inspiring individuals. When women uplift each other, they break barriers and challenge limitations, inspiring hope. This supportive atmosphere ensures each woman feels valued and empowered.

Through Fanikisha, Kianda Foundation continues its mission of holistic empowerment. The program ensures that women, regardless of their age or background, have the opportunity to grow, thrive, and make a lasting impact in their families and communities.
Looking Ahead: The Journey of Transformation
As this cohort progresses, we eagerly anticipate the stories of change and success that will emerge from these sessions. The journey has just begun for these remarkable women in Dagoretti. With each passing week, they will gain new skills and insights that will enhance their lives.
The path ahead may be challenging, but with a strong support system, anything is possible. This program is a testament to women’s strength and resilience. Together, they will continue to push boundaries and create a brighter future.
