Empowering Women in Hospitality and Entrepreneurship: Kimlea Technical Training Centre's Graduation

On the 26th of May 2023, 84 women and girls graduated at the Kimlea Technical Training Centre.

Among the graduates were 45 young girls who successfully completed the two-year hospitality training program. This comprehensive program equipped them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the hospitality industry.

Additionally, 29 ladies graduated from the Kimlea Business Centre program. This one year part-time course is specifically designed for women involved in food-related businesses or those aspiring to start one.It provided these determined women with the essential tools for success in entrepreneurship and catering.


Ten young girls also proudly received their certificates from the Pre-University Intensive Course on Basic Catering Skills. This three-month program prepared them for future endeavors in the culinary arts and laid a strong foundation for their higher education pursuits.

The event was graced by esteemed guests including, Mary Kariuki, an Ambassador of Kianda Foundation and the guest of honor of the event, Mr. Njoroge, the Managing Director of The Kentmere Club, Mercedes Otaduy, the Managing Director of Kianda Foundation and Marilyn D'Souza, a Consultant at Kianda Foundation.

This graduation ceremony was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of these 84 remarkable women and girls. It marked the culmination of their efforts in acquiring essential skills for the hospitality and food-related industries.

As they step into the next chapter of their lives, these empowered women and girls will undoubtedly leave an indelible impact on their communities and the world at large. Congratulations to the Class of 2023!
